A Look Back
Wow. Yeah that's pretty much all I can say about these photos. wow. And in case your confused, that's a "Holy cow, I thought these were good photos?!" wow. It's blurry, poorly posed, edited in some weird colors, and all-in-all just not my best work. But at the time it was the best I had ever done! And I was proud of it.
It was the first official photoshoot with my new camera, and I had no idea what I was doing. I was wildly over adjusting everything. First it was too dark, then too bright, then to blurry.......blah, blah, blah.. You get it. I was a newb.
It's been a long journey since then, but over the years I have created more and more 'best ever' photos and each time I do I look back at the old 'best ever's' and see the gradual transformation as I learned something new and became better at understanding my camera, posing, and finding my style.
On the days when I feel like I'm just spinning my wheels, that I haven't improved or made any real progress, "There's so much I still don't know" or "Why am I not as good as I want to be yet?" I look back through those old photoshoots and remember that I've come such a long way since that first shoot. I haven't stood still, and I have been on an upward climb, even if It's had a few plateaus.
This last shoot I did with my sister ( below ) is so much closer to the look I have been striving for. I would never have dreamed when I did that first shoot that I could ever have produced a photo even close to this. And now here I am. One step closer to my goals.
